Most points advice is written as if everyone departs from the same three airports. They don't. A Caribbean trip is a short, cheap hop from Charlotte, Atlanta, or Miami — and a long, expensive one from Seattle. This guide is organized by home region instead of by destination, because the right redemption genuinely depends on where you start.

Nobody can write this alone

Hotel and airline sweet spots hold true no matter where you live. Regional sweet spots don't — the best move out of Charlotte is often the wrong move out of Seattle, and the reverse is just as true. This is the one guide on the site built to be crowdsourced rather than authored, since real knowledge of a home airport's quirks belongs to the people who actually fly out of it every month.

Northeast

NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, DC — dense competition among carriers, strong transatlantic positioning.

Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Raleigh — the natural gateway to the Caribbean and much of Latin America.
